Get a Double Buzz at Amor y Amargo |
Coffee cocktails cost $12. Coffee and amaro pairings are $11. On the menu, the latter offer brief descriptions (for La Montana, apple, fruit punch and butterscotch; for Yirgacheffe, mandarin orange, tomatillo and honey) and a choice of two suitable amari. Take your Costa Rican pour-over with Nonino (spice) or Sebilla (berry, herbal). Yirgacheffe may be paired with Montenegro (citrus) or Dell’ Erborista (honey, herbal). You don’t have to be decisive. Amor y Amergo’s bartenders are as willing to offer advice as they are to blend drinks.
There’s also no need to drink on an empty stomach. A small box on the lower right-hand side of the menu offers “Sustenance”. The small bites – presently deviled eggs, quiche, savory toast, and peel-and-eat shrimp – were created by Teague. There’s that background in cooking again.
