Hospitality is an act of collaboration. Play your part, as a generous patron, by being aware of the rest of the bar. If the place is packed and the bartender’s attention is under constant demand, then this is not the time to ask for a brewer’s biography. (This is where not having gone for every high ABV beer on the menu comes in very handy.)
Support the bartender in doing her or his job, and appreciation will net you information, advice, a grateful smile, insider tips about brews that are coming to the bar, and the start of a beautiful relationship with one of the best brewpubs in town.
