Those grapes travel in controlled luxury, to arrive in Brooklyn fresh, unbruised and unblemished. Not being in an AVA, McCormack says, “I feel like we can pull from anywhere. That’s great for me as a winemaker.” He can offer customers a full range of styles. The number of Brooklyn Winery wines varies. “Right now, there are fourteen wines available.”
The current list includes skin-fermented 2012 Finger Lakes Riesling, stainless- and barrel-aged 2012 Finger Lakes Chardonnays, 2011 Los Carneros Pinot Noir, Fortitude (a dessert-style, dry fortified Zinfandel). Descriptions are short and comprehensible – no faux-cleverness here – and award-winners are noted.
