Valentine’s Day. It’s one of those celebrations that makes you wish for a staycation: a travel-free retreat to a boutique hotel, with room service, fine wine and exquisitely contrived cocktails brought to your door.

Between holiday credit card bills and the rapid approach of tax season, few New Yorkers are in a position to book a luxurious suite at a hotel. Thankfully, more than a few NY hotels have cocktail lounges that warrant visiting, even if you aren’t an out-of-towner.
