Where to Watch the 2018 Kentucky Derby in NYC

Spring is finally here which means one thing: the Kentucky Derby is right around the corner. This year, don your floppy hats and pastel shades in honor of horse racing’s biggest day and celebrate at one of these can’t miss New York affairs.

For a more upscale soiree, head to this establishment at one of the New York restaurant scene darlings. In its ninth year (and also its last), this Kentucky Derby party will offer variations of fried chicken, donuts, snow cones and a raw bar alongside mint juleps, whiskey and champagne. (11 Madison Ave.; 212-889-0905)

This Lower East Side mainstay is the perfect option for your Derby Day crew. Now in its 6th year, this event takes place at their rooftop bar, with mint juleps, Maker’s Mark and tequila on the menu. Suit up in your most stylish Derby-worthy clothes for an event to remember. (92 Ludlow St.; 212-254-9100)

Saxon + Parole
This festive affair is offering live bluegrass music, juleps and rosé along with Kentucky-inspired apps from the kitchen. The 4-hour event has a bit of a steep price tag ($135), but is worth it for this award winning establishment. (316 Bowery; 212-254-0350)

The Bell House
This Gowanus spot is in partnership with Fletcher’s Brooklyn Barbecue for a southern-inspired afternoon party. Mint Juleps, of course, along with square dancing, live music, a human horse race and more await attendees at this event. Plus, put your best foot forward with your best Derby attire for the chance to win best dressed. (149 7th St; 718-643-6510)
