The newest output of this Montauk-esque spot calls Orchard Street home on the Lower East Side. The whitewashed wood and brick, tropical plants and oversized framed photos of the ocean all contribute to the laid-back surfer vibe in both the bar and restaurant areas of this upscale pizza joint. Their cocktail list includes fan favorites like sangria and margaritas plus a selection of tropical concoctions like pina coladas and frose. (167 Orchard St.; 646-852-6478)
Cienfuegos
It doesn’t get more island-inspired than this spot’s signature menu item: rum punch bowls. A plethora of flavor combinations is available, in sizes ranging from a single serving to The Royal size that can serve five or more of you and your friends. (95 Avenue A; 212-614-6818)
Surf Bar
Just off of Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, this spot brings new meaning to beach bar. The entire front facade is decked in thatched roofing and topped with a surfboard, turning it into true tiki bar. Serving up Italian-inspired seafood fare, the real draw here is the extensive selection of frozen cocktails—topped with umbrellas, of course. Enjoy them inside during the wintertime or on the sand-covered outside patio throughout the warmer months.
