Just because it's winter doesn't mean the fun has to stop. With a new year comes new opportunities to try some of the best food and drinks that New York has to offer. Check out these events for a chance to start 2018 off on the right foot.

Fine Wine & Food Festival
Showcasing the best and brightest of New York and New Jersey's top wineries and restaurants, the annual Fine Wine & Food Festival on January 20 allows foodies and oenophiles alike to sample gourmet bites along with access to offerings from over 150 distilleries, breweries, cideries and food trucks from around the greater New York area.

Art History Happy Hour at the Brooklyn Museum
A recurring and beloved event, the Art History Happy Hour this month on January 25 will focus on Roots of "The Dinner Party," walking visitors through Judy Chicago's feminist installation at the iconic Brooklyn institution. Accompanied by a beer and wine cash bar, the lecture itself is free and simply requires an RSVP.

Best of Brooklyn Food and Beer Festival
On January 28, just across the river from Manhattan in Industry City, is the annual Best of Brooklyn festival. Offering different time sessions throughout the day, attendees will have access to unlimited tastes of the borough's finest craft brews from Greenpoint Beer & Ale, Brooklyn Brewery, Kelso Beer Co. and more.

Añejo Tequila Tasting
Iconic Tribeca restaurants Añejo offers a monthly five-course dinner series, hosted by renowned chef Ricardo Camacho. Snag a reservation for this month's seating on January 29, which features five courses, with each course inspired by a different tequila. Contact the restaurant directly to make reservations and enjoy this delicious meal paired with assorted libations. (301 Church Street; 212-920-6270)
