Whether you like it or not, fall is here. Let us not mourn the loss of margaritas and rosé in the city—instead let’s welcome the autumn with some great new bars opening this fall in NYC.

 

Members from The Raines Law Room and Maiella have joined forces to bring you The Last Word. It’s is a bigger space than the former venues and offer tasty bar snacks such as house made beef jerky to be washed down with agricole-based cocktails. (31-30 Ditmars Blvd., Queens; 718-440-3378)

 

The Nomad Hotel has opened up in the historic and landmarked 1905 Beaux Arts Building and their forthcoming lounge clings onto that historic “old world” aesthetic. Serving up rare craft beers and specialty cocktails as the cool weather comes it’ll be a great spot to grab a drink and post up next to the marble fireplace. (34E 32nd St.; 212-779-3432)

 

Brought to you by the team behind the legendary cocktail club The Dead Rabbit, Blacktail is fashioned with a nod to Prohibition-Era Cuba and Ernest Hemingway himself. The bar itself (pictured above) is decorated with over 300 museum-quality paintings and artwork. At Blacktail, bar manager Jesse Vida and beverage director Jillian Vose are riffing on contemporary staples, a rum and coke for example includes fernet for a sweet zing, and champagne for some pleasant dryness. Bringing back classic cocktails clad in leather, The Spaniard comes from the minds of Bua and the team behind Wilfie & Nell. The Spaniard will open in mid-to-late fall so be sure to keep your eyes and palates peeled to prepare for its arrival. (190 W 4th St.,)

 

From Todd English of Olive and Page Six will be a brand new cocktail-focused lounge within the Intercontinental. Although the bar is expected to open mid-fall much of the project is still in the conception stage, however there’s whispers that honey sourced from the bee hives on the roof may serve as a key ingredient. (310 W 44th St.; 212-803-4545)
