Magic Hat Premieres Dream Machine IPL, Its First New Year-Round Beer in 10 Years
No doubt many a beer geek cut their craft brew drinking teeth with Magic Hat Brewing Company. Whether it's the mellow, 20 IBUs, 5.1% ABV, or the kiss of apricot flavor, the Burlington, Vermont-based brand's #9 is an ale that's palatable but not boring.
From that old favorite, famously referred to as a "not-quite pale ale" comes a not quite IPA. Though it seems like uncharted waters, once again, Magic Hat delivers yet another very drinkable beer.
Dream Machine IPL is the first new year-round offering in 10 years and this time, it's a lager that has been heavily hopped to take it to 50 IBUs.
"An India Pale Lager, combines two great beer experiences into one," Magic Hat Brand Manager Ryan Daley told The Drink Nation. "Taking the great hop character of an IPA and combining that with the smooth finish of an amber lager, Dream Machine is a beer that balances both flavor and finish to deliver a totally unique drinking experience."
Brewed with Nugget and Cascade hops, then dry-hopped with Amarillo and Sterling, there's a crisp citrus so even the bitter of the hops, never lingers for too long. Drink up, it's only 5.7% ABV.
Dream Machine is rolling out now, and already showing up at bars and beer shops that carry Magic Hat beers.
