Urban Oyster Now Offers New York Brewery Tours
Like variety? Like making beer? Like talking beer? Like drinking beer?
How about a brewery tour?
Urban Oyster, which already has plenty of local food and drink crawls on its resume, running all the way back to 2009, has just added brewery tours to the mix. The four-hour-long excursion visits breweries big and small, from Brooklyn Brewery to 508 Grastrobrewery in Manhattan.
"There has been a recent boom in craft beer brewing in the city over the last 2 years with a number of new breweries opening up," Urban Oyster's David Naczycz told DrinkNYC. "There are now 14 breweries operating within the five boroughs and that means NYC has become a major beer city. We think everyone from casual beer drinkers to beer geeks will be excited about this and be interested in learning more."
The NYC Brewery Tours kicked off with two different agendas during February's New York Beer Week and were so popular, one guest who attended the first tour, got back and immediately grabbed a ticket for the second.
Each public tour includes four breweries where the brew staff themselves will lead tastings and a lap around the facilities. Lunch, transportation and lots of tipples are also included. The itinerary is always changing but always begins and ends in Manhattan.
Other New York food geekery offered by Urban Oyster includes a Brewed in Brooklyn Tour and Brooklyn Brownstone Neighborhood Eats Tour.
Tickets can be purchased at www.urbanoyster.com or by calling 347-618-8687.
