HopSlam and Other Highly Sought-After Beers from Michigan's Bell's Brewery Are Now On Tap in New York
HopSlam, one of the most elusive of hop-heavy late-winter seasonals that an increasing number of American craft brewers are rolling out this time of year, is now on tap — or soon will be — at a bunch of New York bars in the coming days.
Bell’s Brewery, the Michigan-based maker of the double IPA that sends beer nerds out into the cold every February to shiver and wait for just one precious sip, recently cut a deal with Union Beer Distributors to bring the beer to the city and Long Island.
More than 80 bars and restaurants in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island are tapping barrels of Bell’s brews like Kalamazoo Stout, Two Hearted Ale, which was recently named the world’s best IPA, Midwestern Pale Ale, and of course the aforementioned HopSlam. Additional specialties, limited run draft-only releases and rare one-offs are also making the rounds.
