Recap: Drink NYC Launch Party at Franklin Park
We couldn't have asked for better weather for our launch party last week, and Franklin Park was the perfect setting. Nearly a hundred Drink NYC fans showed up at the indoor-outdoor beer garden to take advantage of free T-shirts, keychains and sunglasses and sip with fellow NY drinkers.
The Street Vendor Project (producer of the Vendy Awards) was at the door, accepting $3 donations, and in return guests got a bracelet for a dollar off Sixpoint beers for the rest of the night. In addition to the regularly-pouring Sweet Action, Sixpoint brought its IPA and The Crisp specially for the Drink NYC bash. Also on special were cocktails made with Art in the Age Root and Snap, pouring for just $4 each.
Franklin Park is not only a beer garden, it’s also connected to a small diner, so while people at the party were enjoying the beers and cocktails they munched on great grilled cheeses, burgers, onion rings and other diner favorites. If you haven’t yet made it over to this Brooklyn bar, definitely put it on your list — it’s just northeast of Prospect Park, across the Eastern Parkway, and just over a block away from the subway (2, 3, 4, 5).
