Where to Find the Best March Madness Specials in NYC

Long after you’ve thrown out your failed bracket, you may still find yourself wanting to see which teams come out on top during this year’s March Madness tournament. To drown out too much disappointment about your no good bracket, you can watch the college basketball games at these bars while imbibing some pretty great drink specials.
Your typical sports bar, Village Pourhouse will definitely fill up for March Madness. Specials featured this month include everything from $14 Bud Light pitchers to $100 bottles of Fireball. (64 Third Ave.; 212-979-2337)
With a rotating slate of specials, SideBar will get you good and rowdy for March Madness even if you don’t factor in the $10 Ketel Martinis and $120 VIP Game Day Packages. (118 E 15th St.; 212-677-2900)
March Madness-specific specials aside, Lansdowne Road has a weekly $5 beer special, and it’s never the same two weeks in a row. So you’re always guaranteed to get beer for a fair price, and it will always be a surprise as to what beer that is. (599 10th Ave.; 212-239-8020)
Again with the $14 pitchers, Bill’s also offers $4 pints all throughout March Madness. The food options are also special for the college basketball season, with a “Game Day Platter” that’s full of nachos, cheese fries, wings, sliders, and more. (Multiple locations: 16 W 51st St.; 212-705-8510; 22 9th Ave.; 212-414-3003; and 85 West St.; 212-894-3800)
With varying and ample specials every day of the week, Whiskey Trader always has the game on TV and several ways to drink through it. Seriously, the drink specials span everything from Sangria to Prosecco to Patron shots and Moscow Mules. So if you start tiring of those $14 pitchers of light beer, you'll know where to go. (71 W 55th St.; 212-582-2223)
Why not watch March Madness at a bar with daily happy hours that last until 4 AM? A long bar food menu will help round out the experience--and help those happy hours from getting to you in too harmful a manner. (430 Amsterdam Ave.; 212-580-0556)
At select times throughout the Madness, this rowdy sports bar offers $3.50 beer cans along with other specials that change by the week. The food is also definitely more than decent, and you can get a good, full meal here as you watch the game(s). (200 Fifth Ave., Brooklyn; 718-638-2925)
