Never has there been a more perfect match than beer and wings. Whether you're chowing down while watching a game, taking advantage of a great special, or just enjoying the enormous amount of sauce choices, there is always an excuse for wings. Here are some of Baltimore’s best, just in time for the Super Bowl XLVIII.

C&R Pub: This Federal Hill hot spot has a country feel, and plenty of Natty Boh and wings to go with it. Go with the well-loved original recipe, or enjoy the perfect balance of spicy and sweet in the signature "Nighthawk" wings. Dead End Saloon: Open since 1977, this Fells Point dive is well known for its excellent pub food, including the wing selection. Renovations this past summer gave the bar a facelift and added some room for additional patrons, but it didn't detract from its off-the-beaten-path charm (935 Fell St.; 410-732-3602).

Delia Foley's: Always high on wing-lovers’ lists is this Federal Hill corner bar, with a great rotating beer list and a wing collection that takes up an entire menu page. Hudson Street Stackhouse: Whether you're searching for a Super Bowl spot or just a place to watch a great hockey game, it's hard to go wrong when there are wing and 30-plus taps of beer involved. While these wings are closer to a chicken finger than the traditional bone-in style, if you like super-hot Buffalo sauce, they are a must try. iBar: A bit outside the downtown scene, this lower Charles Village pub has wings that are causing quite a buzz. Served in the spirit of the Anchor Bar (the original wing bar in Buffalo, NY), these wings have a crisp outside, just the right amount of sauce and the option to go "chef’s style" with the addition of garlic and parmesan (2118 Maryland Ave.; 410-637-3089).

Kislings: Kislings has racked up quite a few nods for wing quality over the past few years. If you're looking for a tried-and-true winning order, look no further than this Fleet Street corner bar (2100 Fleet St.; 410-327-5477).

Looneys: The honey Old Bay wings take the cake at this Canton college party bar. You can also split your order into multiple flavors, so you can enjoy more of the many options on the list, including garlic parmesan and "Murphy McGee’s" (2900 O'Donnell St.; 410-675-9235).

Mother’s Federal Hill Grill: There is no better atmosphere for wing eating than the Purple Patio outside at Mother’s in football season. Here you can enjoy the outcry of Ravens support as a side to your delicious chicken.
