Andechs Release: The Holy Beer Pilgrimage to Brauhaus Schmitz

After months of patiently waiting, Brauhaus Schmitz is excited to finally release the highly sought after beers from the monastery brewery of Andechs. Andechs is a Benedictine Monastery located on the "Holy Mountain" southwest of Munich. For centuries pilgrims have made the journey to the Holy site because of the multiple religious relics located here.

Over the years it has also become a sort of pilgrimage for beer aficionados seeking out what is often regarded as the best Doppelbock beer in Germany. Beer has been brewed at this site since 1455 but has never been available in the United States until now. The beer was first released in New York and now in Philadelphia. Brauhaus Schmitz is proud to announce they have the exclusive rights for Andechs draft beer in Philadelphia for 1 year!

The following three beers will be available on draft starting August 29th: Andechser Doppelbock (7.1%), Andechser Helles (4.8%), and Andechser Dunkles Weissbier (5%).
