Where to Sip Festive Holiday Cocktails in New York City

by Kerry Jepsen on Dec 13, 2016 in Roundups

The best thing about the holidays is the festive spin on just about everything, and we here at Drink NYC are very excited about the festive spin on our favorite thing - drinks! We’ve rounded up the most festive cocktails and where to get them in New York City, so you don’t have to go to the North Pole to get that festive buzz.

LOCL: Shakespeare’s Globe
You’ve seen it on all over social media, and here’s the spot — A Midwinter’s Night Dream is a new Shakespearean-themed pop-up bar that has taken over LOCL Bar inside the NYLO Hotel. The drink is called Shakespeare’s Globe and it is served in a seasonal snow globe. (222 W 77th St.; 212-651-3319)

Wallflower: Café Mendoza
This seasonal sipper is as easygoing as it gets. Served in a wine glass, the Café Mendoza is a delicate blend of cardinal mendoza, coffee liquor, branca menta, egg and cream. Fashioned after a classic boozy eggnog, this cocktail takes a slightly different approach and features Italian amaros. (235 W 12th St.; 646-682-9842)

Seamstress: Puddin’ on the Ritz
A bar fashioned after fashion, Seamstress on the Upper East Side enjoys serving up cocktail classics with a modern twist. This year for the holidays, stop in and get the Puddin’ on the Ritz, a rich and indulgent concoction of rum, bitters, vanilla pudding mix and maple syrup. (339 E 75th St.; 212-288-8033)

Davio’s Steakhouse: Baby, It’s Cold Outside
Over at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse there’s quite a few seasonal cocktails on the list - but we went for the Baby it’s Cold Outside, a wonderland of vodka, cranberry-orange jam, and rosemary syrup served up in a martini glass. (447 Lexington Ave.; 212-661-4810)

Monarch Lounge: Christmas Sparkle
This Rooftop Lounge has really gone all out for the holidays this year, transforming the entire venue into a Dickensian dream. There’s a couple cocktails inspired by the most wonderful time of the year, and we chose the Christmas Sparkle for its refreshing pop of peppermint. (71 W 35th St.; 212-630-9993)

Left Bank: Egg Nog
The Left Bank over in the West Village is delivering a decadent eggnog inspired cocktail — a rich mixture of El Doroda 5-year cask rum, vanilla liqueur, egg, cream, and maple this sumptuous little number is perfect for easy sipping in between caroling. (117 Perry St.; 212-727-1170)
