Where to Watch March Madness in D.C.

The Madness has begun. As the dust settles after Selection Sunday and you frantically rush to complete as many brackets as possible, head to these bars to catch all of the action (don’t worry, we won’t tell your boss you’re playing hooky).
The name of this place says it all. With 36 TVs surrounding the dining area, you won’t miss any games. Also, Bracket Room is hosting the 3rd Annual Shot Madness Bracket Challenge. Fill out a bracket and choose which shot you think will win it all….glory, money and the opportunity to name a new shot awaits you. (1210 N Garfield St., Arlington; 703-276-7337)
Don’t miss the two day Tap-It-ology event at City Tap House this Thursday and Friday, March 19 and 20. The beer bracket challenge consists of four rounds and 16 pre-selected beers. Each beer will be discounted at $5 for each round, and the beer with the highest sales by the final round becomes the Official Beer of March Madness. They’ll also have a standard March Madness bracket challenge with two tickets to Firefly Musical Festival up for grabs. Food and drink specials will be available during the tournament games, including $5 Rebel IPAs, $11 buffalo chicken and ranch pizza and $10 beef fajita nachos. (901 9th St., NW; 202-644-9433)
Come fill out a beer bracket while enjoying the games on Drafting Table’s flat screens. 16 beers will vie for the title with the winner chosen on Wednesday, April 1, at 6 PM. The beer crowned champion will be offered at a discounted price of $4 during the Championship game. Stop by throughout the tournament and score giveaways including t-shirts, glassware and more. (1529 14th St., NW; 202-621-7475)
Come for “Rooftop Madness” at Jack Rose from March 18–29, starting at 5 PM and enjoy the games with $5 pints, $6 punch and $7 whiskey. They’ll also have half-price bites including shrimp hushpuppies, smoky whiskey wings and blackened fish tacos. (2007 18th St., NW; 202-588-7388)
Ditch work and catch the first two days of the tournament at Penn Social. Starting at noon, enjoy 30+ draft beers and all of the games on their TVs and 10 HD projector screens. For those of you not into basketball, there are plenty of other distractions in the form of games: skee ball, corn hole and more. (801 E St., NW; 202-697-4900)
University of Kentucky fans have been known to congregate at this Adams Morgan bar to cheer on the number one ranked team, but even if you’re not a Wildcat or SEC fan, you can still take part in the March Madness specials Town Tavern has to offer all tournament long: $12 Bud Light pitchers, $3 Bud/Bud Light bottles and $6 burger baskets. Catch the games on both floors of the bar. (2323 18th St., NW; 202-387-8696)
