Pick Six: Best Sports Bars to Watch the Super Bowl
That time of year is upon us again. The Super Bowl has us scrambling to find a bar with the most screens and best deals. Don’t drop the ball when it comes to the biggest game of the year (even if you’re only interested in the halftime show and commercials). Here’s our Pick Six for where to watch the Seahawks take on the Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl, happening this Sunday, February 1.
Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse, 4:30 PM
Sure, most bars will have the game on their TVs, but head to Arlington for the “Big Game on the Big Screen,” and catch the Super Bowl being played on a movie screen. Jack Rose Dining Saloon, 5 PM
In honor of the NFC vs. AFC matchup, Adams Morgan’s favorite whiskey bar will be hosting a Beer-BQ, pitting DC breweries and classic BBQ styles against one another. Don’t miss the DC Drink-Off featuring Flying Dog Brewery vs. 3 Stars Brewing Company and the BBQ Eat-Off with Carolina Gold vs. Kansas City Red. They’ll also have happy hour specials ALL DAY LONG. Lou’s City Bar
A few weeks ago, they hosted a wake to mourn the Redskins’ pitiful season...because, why not? Although the hometown team was nowhere near making it to the big game, come out to this Columbia Heights sports bar to catch the Seahawks and Patriots duke it out. A staple for regular season Sundays, Public Bar offers a great game day atmosphere and multiple levels for game watches. Head to the main floor to view the Super Bowl on the largest HD projector in the city. There are also a number of TVs in the upstairs lounge area and on the rooftop deck. Watch the game on one of their many HD projector screens, and enjoy the $3 Bud Light special they have every Sunday. If the game takes a turn for the worst or you’re not into sports and just tagging along with friends, there are plenty of distractions in the form of skee-ball, arcade games and cornhole to keep you occupied. What’s the best way to avoid long lines for beer refills? Reserve a booth with it’s own built-in table tap at Redline. There are only eight booths, so make sure to get your reservation in ASAP.
