Philadelphia's Top Drinking and Eating Options for Father's Day

Father’s Day will be here sooner than you think. It’s coming up on Sunday, June 15. So if you haven’t lined something up for your Pop yet, the clock is ticking. But before you go and get all freaked out, check out some of our awesome gift suggestions, and then consider some of these awesome drinking and eating options that are bound to make your Dad’s day.

Panorama (14 N Front St.; 215-922-7800)
Old City’s go-to for really awesome wines is departing from its regularly schedule programming and offering Drafts For Dads from 5 - 9 PM. Bring your father in for dinner and a cold one, and his first one is free.

Perch Pub (1345 Locust St.; 215-546-4090)
Perch Pub is is offering two opportunities to take your Dad out for a bite and beer. For Father’s Day, the pub is serving brunch from11:30 AM - 3 PM, and dinner from 4 PM until closing. The brunch menu boasts such tasty items as Philly Cheese Steak Omelet, Eggs Benedict, and Breakfast Tostadas, while dinner dishes include Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon and Braised Pig Cheeks.

Lacroix (210 West Rittenhouse Square; 215-790-2533)
For a fancier and boozier affair, Lacroix is hosting a special Bourbon Brunch. Chef Jon Cichon is serving dishes like Bourbon Glazed Pork Shoulder, and Homemade Bread Pudding with Bourbon Caramel Sauce, and the bar will have some special barrel aged cocktails. In addition to the bourbon-laden fare, Dads can also enjoy selections from Lacroix’s raw bar, hand carved meat and fish station, and of course sweets from the chocolate fountain for dessert.

The Library Bar and Bar 210 (210 West Rittenhouse Square; 215-790-2533)
If your Dad would prefer to cut to the chase, and head straight for the booze in lieu of lunch or brunch, The Library Bar and Bar 210 at The Rittenhouse is offering specials on three special Scotches and beers. The whisky options include Lagavulin 16yr, Islay Macallan 18yr, and Speyside Suntory, from Yamazaki, Japan. Beers being offered are Reissdorf Kölsch, Hitachino Classic , and Saison Dupont.

Wyebrook Farm (150 Wyebrook Road, Honey Brook, PA; 610-942-7481)
Celebrate Father’s Day down on the farm with the Wyebrook crew, who will be serving up a special brunch buffet from 10 AM - 12 PM. For forty bucks ($20 for kids 12 and younger), you and your old man can enjoy barbecued meats — ribs, brisket and chicken — in addition the farm’s own cafe brunch spread. For drinks, there’s a BYOV (bring your own vodka) Bloody Mary station stocked all kinds of mixers and garnishes.

Cuba Libre (10 South 2nd St.; 215-627-0666)
If your Dad would prefer something a little more Caribbean-inspired, consider Cuba Libre. They are offering complimentary Mount Gay Black Barrel rum snifters for every father, provided someone in the party orders one of Chef Guillermo Pernot’s popular grilled dishes. Options include Guava Barbecue Ribs glazed with guava barbecue sauce and served with jicama-sambal slaw; Black Angus Sirloin Steak served with caramelized shallots, steamed kale, yucca fries, tamarindo ketchup and Cuba Libre’s signature steak sauce; and Plato Gaucho Mixed Grill, adobo-rubbed all-natural Black Angus sirloin steak, chimichurri skirt steak, jumbo shrimp, herb-marinated chicken breasts and Spanish artisan chorizo sausage, served with red hot onion rings and a trio of sauces (for a minimum of two people). Prices range from $13 - $34. Reservations are being accepted for 4 PM and later.

Brauhaus Schmitz (718 South St.; 267-909-8814)
Bring the old man over to Brauhaus Schmitz for a schnitzel and they'll throw in a brewski at no extra cost. All day on Father’s Day, the restaurant and bar is pouring complimentary Dinkel Acker Pils for all Dad’s.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (multiple locations)
All 10 Iron Hill locations are rolling out the red carpet for Dads with a special Father’s Day Steak Menu. Options include a Bacon-Wrapped Filet Mignon and a Char-Grilled Flat Iron Steak. In addition to the meats, Iron Hill will debut this year’s Honey Do Wit, the brewery and restaurants award-winning Belgian-style double wheat beer. They’re taking reservations from 5 PM through the rest of the evening.

Varalli Restaurant (231 S Broad St.; 215-546-6800)
Avenue of the Arts mainstay Varalli is offering a $45 prix fixe tasting menu for Father’s Day in addition to its regular a la carte options. Tasting menu highlights include a 14 oz. bone-in beef rib-eye steak and a jumbo soft shell crab entree.

City Tap House (3925 Walnut St.; 215-662-0105)
If your Dad digs craft beers, he’s going to love City Tap House and its 60-tap draft list. For Father’s Day, Chef Chad Vetter is serving up a special menu of Dad-friendly fare, and your old man’s first brew is on City Tap House’s resident beer guru Andy Farrell.
