As daylight gets dimmer and the air gets frostier the prospect of sipping a hot cocktail to warm up becomes increasingly appealing. Find these hot Denver drinks in some of the city’s coolest places.
Boompa’s Cure-all: If any region knows how to keep warm it’s the countries of Scandinavia. Over at
Trillium in the Ballpark neighborhood you will find Glögg, a warm Scandinavian Christmas drink, made of hot, spiced red wine. Boompa’s is a mix of Housemade Glögg, Gloggavit, raisins and almonds. The name alone makes us want to try one

The Bishop: This spiced drink contains orange, clove, cinnamon and star anise with house-infused port.
Parallel 17 serves it up warm with a Saigon cinnamon stick. One sip of The Bishop will keep Old Man Winter away for at least another night

Cappuccino Tamayo:
Tamayo is a hot little place in Larimer Square and the bar wants to help you enjoy
the holidays. When itgets too cold to shop the square, go inside Tamayo and try the Cappuccino Tamayo made with 1921 Crema de Tequila, Patron “XO Café” coffee liqueur, hot espresso, steamed milk and topped with frothy steamed milk foam and cinnamon

Colorado BFK: This hot number from the
Highland Tap and Burger will warm you up and wake you up. The drink is simple – a cup of Colorado-roasted coffee mixed with a shot of Bailey’s, Frangelico and Kahlua. Simple, warm and delicious

Hot Blueberry Tea: After an afternoon of outdoor ice skating at Skyline Park on the 16th Street Mall, head inside to The Palm for some hot drinks. Hot Sake: Over at Izakaya Den’s new location on South Pearl Street, guests can order hot sake with Asian “tapas.” In fact some sakes are best served hot. For “Atsu-Kan” or hot sake try Kuromatsu-Hakushika Tokusen or try it mixed with Chambord (Purple Haze) or Grand Marnier (G-ma Sake).
