Play Around at These NYC Bars with Games

by Kerry Jepsen on Nov 14, 2017 in Roundups

Whether you’re flying solo or with the whole gang, hanging out at the local pub is always better with an activity — so we’re rounding up the best bars around with billiards, darts, and everything in between.

Ace Bar
Home to one of the largest vintage lunchbox collections as well as other old school oddities. Ace Bar in the East Village is also where you can get your game on. With plenty do get your hands dirty with including pool, darts, skiball and pinball, there’s no way you’re leaving without getting good at something! (531 E 5th St.; 212-979-8476)

The Levee
This tried and true rock n’ roll dive in Williamsburg has patrons clamoring for offbeat cocktails, beer and shot specials, and cheap drafts. If you’re not busy head banging over a bowl of cheesy poofs, try out your luck at the pool table, but if it’s full, there’s also a dart board and Big Buck Hunter. (212 Berry St., Brooklyn; 718-218-8787)

Amsterdam Billiards
Over in Union Square, Amsterdam Billiards has created an empire for proper pool players and amateurs alike with a room full of 25 pool tables so there’s never a wait. Pool not your thing? Darts and foosball tables are also in abundance at Amsterdam Billiards. For those that seek the real action, Amsterdam Billiards also runs a pool league. (110 E 11th St.; 212-995-0333)

Space Billiards
In Koreatown, you’ll find one of the funkiest billiard halls in all of New York City. Space Billiards is equipped with several pool tables and dart boards all set in flooded neon lighting and bumping tunes. Most interesting is the full bar with cocktail made from Korean spirits and open bar package deals offered daily. (34 W 32nd St.; 212-239-4166)

Break Bar and Billiards
Ping-pong, darts, foosball, arcade games, and of course pool tables can all be found at Break Bar and Billiards over in Astoria. Don’t want to break the bank? Get over there for their super cheap happy hour and some delicious bar bites to refuel before the next match. (32-04 Broadway, Long Island City; 718-777-5400)

Brady’s
Over on the Upper East Side this long time family owned establishment has become a landmark of the neighborhood. This “nothing fancy” old school hangout has plenty of dart boards, pool tables, and arcade games to occupy you and your friends when letting loose is in order. (1583 2nd Ave.; 212-861-6070)
