Where to Celebrate Mother's Day 2017 in New York City

by Kerry Jepsen on May 9, 2017 in Roundups

Whether your mother is a born-and-raised New Yorker or just visiting, going out and giving your mother the best of the best is the main goal because, well, she's the best of the best! NYC is no slouch when it comes to Mother’s Day, and finding the right spot can be overwhelming. Have no fear — Drink NYC is here to nurture you just like Mom would and tell you all the best spots you should check out for Mother’s Day.

Nothing feels more homey and soul soothing than Italian cuisine, and right next to Penn Station there’s L’Amico. Chic, full of rustic charm, and totally appropriate for Mom, L’Amico specializes in pizzas and pastas and classic brunch items for this Mother’s Day like a lobster egg benedict with a meyer lemon hollandaise. For a drink special, L’Amico will be offering up a legendary Pimm’s cup featuring Pimm’s #1, blood orange, egg white, and prosecco which happen to go down even better when accompanied by live jazz which incidentally it will happen to be. (Eventi Hotel, 849 6th Ave.; 212-201-4065)

La Pecora Bianca
A cozy interior will make Mom feel like she’s exploring the Italian countryside, and with regional wines, aperitifs on tap, and a special Mother’s Day prix-fixe, you’ll be sure to make Mom feel even cozier. For only $50, patrons can participate in a three-course prix-fixe which features twistson modern brunch classics. However, which sets this brunch apart from any other is the unlimited Bloody Marys and bellinis for one hour for $20. (1133 Broadway; 212-498-9696)

Rebelle
Industrial yet comfortable, this French bistro over in Bowery is great for the mom that loves a good glass of wine and even better for the mom who loves a bottle. Their standard menu will be offered, so expect all the lavish modern French plates you’ve either experienced or heard lots of about. The selling point for Rebelle this Mother’s Day is all bottles under $400 will be offered half off, and that’s a heck of a deal. (218 Bowery; 917-639-3880)

Bar Bolonat
If your mom is anything but simple, Bar Bolonat is the place to take her mother’s day. This West Village bistro is serving up some seriously stylish Mediterranean eats — Bar Bolonat is full of pizazz and spirit, just like mother dearest. Be sure to make a reservation for special Mother’s Day dishes and speciality cocktails for only $10. (611 Hudson St.; 212-390-1545)

Noreetuh
The least Hawaiian restaurant that is indeed Hawaiian, Noreetuh in the East Village is devoid of any stereotypical Hawaiian novelties that come to mind and is instead quite stylish. With menu items bearing their influence from Southeast Asian, Japan, and of course Hawaii, Noreetuh aims to bring a flavorful and eclectic culinary vision to the table. On Mother’s Day, a special brunch deal will get you an entree and a brunch cocktail (either a passion fruit orange, guava mimosa, or a lychee bellini) for only $20. (128 1st Ave.; 646-892-3050)

Le District Brasserie Beaubourg
For the sophisticated mom, Le District Brasserie Beaubourg is a modern interpretation of a classic french restaurant. Classic French and western brunch dishes will see the Beaubourg treatment this Mother’s Day brunch, like a lobster BLT on challah bread. This Mother’s Day, a special toast of champagne for only $5 a glass will be in order, as well a special treat from the establishment to all mothers upon leaving. (225 Liberty St.; 212-981-8589)
