7 Places to Pair Your Drink With Lobster in NYC

Lobster season is here, and with it comes a new opportunity for pairing summer beverages. From rolls to platters to surf 'n' turf burgers, there’s plenty of options for lobster lovers who crave a side of booze.

Luke’s Lobster: Get instantly transported to Maine at this classic lobster shack (with five locations in Manhattan). Pair your Maine-style lobster roll with Cape Cod chips, a pickle and one of many Maine microbrews (the selection includes beer from Allagash , Peak, Geary’s, Atlantic Brewing Company/Bar Harbor and Maine Beer Co.) for a grand total of $20 (93 E 7th St.; 212-387-8487).

L&W Oyster Co.: All summer long, Tuesday and Saturday are Lobster Night at this Flatiron oyster bar. For $29.95 per person, you get a two-pound Maine lobster stuffed with your choice of a Florentine or casino topping, or simply steamed with drawn butter. On the side comes corn on the cob with lobster roe butter, chipotle potato salad and aboozy lemonade shot. Reservations are recommended (254 5th Ave; 212-203-7772).

Ed’s Lobster Bar: The interior of this SoHo bistro consists of white marbled counters, plain wooden tables and chairs and brick walls adorned with old school chalkboards boasting the latest freshly caught specials. Get the fresh lobster however you like it — steamed, grilled or broiled — or try the lobster roll, lobster ravioli, lobster pot pie, lobster burger... you get the picture. Don’t forget to check out the excellent wine and beer selection to complete the meal (222 Lafayette St.; 212-343-3236).

Petite Abeille: Hello, Lobster Night Thursdays! Score a one-and-a-quarter-pound lobster plus a beer for $27 at this adorable Belgian bar with four locations in the city to choose from (44 W 17th St.; 212-727-2989).

Ulysses Folk House: Looking for some lobster to cure the Monday blues? Every Monday night, this Irish pub (with a fully stocked bar) in the Financial District serves one-and-a-half-pound lobsters with corn on the cob and baked potatoes for $18.95 – a deal that's tough to beat (95 Pearl St.; 212- 482-0400).

Smithfield: Would you like your Angus burger topped with a hearty serving of sweet Maine lobster and poached asparagus? This three-floor Chelsea sports tavern can help you. Try the surf 'n' turf burger or lobster mac 'n’ cheese when you stop by for happy hour, which runs all day though 8 PM, Monday–Friday (215 W. 28th St.; 212-564-2172).

Hotel Chantelle: Each Sunday after brunch, this LES cocktail lounge kicks off the 'Maine Squeeze' (get it?) lobster bake with $25 buckets of Red Stripe and reggae music. For $29.92 you can get a whole Maine lobster, steamed little neck clams, baked red russet potatoes and corn on the cob — plus a free beer or cocktail if you buy a ticket in advance (92 Ludlow St.; 212-254-9100).
